Cloud security rankings 2026: nine CNAPPs scored for multi-cloud coverage
Short answer
Orca Security leads at 9.09 out of 10, followed by Wiz at 9.03 and CrowdStrike Falcon Cloud Security at 7.94. The ranking answers one question: Which cloud security platform gets a multi-cloud estate to full workload visibility fastest, without rolling out agents first, and what does it trade for that speed? Runtime depth, integrations and pricing still count, at lower weights, so each platform's trade-off is visible in the table.

What question does this ranking answer?
Which cloud security platform gets a multi-cloud estate to full workload visibility fastest, without rolling out agents first, and what does it trade for that speed?
It fits a team with workloads in three or more clouds or many accounts, an incomplete inventory, and no time for an agent rollout before it needs findings. If your estate sits in one cloud, or you already run an agent everywhere, use the coverage calculator to weight runtime and pricing higher.
How do the nine platforms rank?
Coverage score (editorial assessment, 0 to 10)
| Rank | Platform | Coverage | Score | Best fit |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Orca Security | Teams with workloads across several clouds, including Oracle, Alibaba or Tencent, who need a full agentless inventory before any agent rollout | ||
| 2 | Wiz | Teams on the four largest public clouds who want agentless coverage tied to the strongest attack-path graph and the widest integration catalog | ||
| 3 | CrowdStrike Falcon Cloud Security | Falcon endpoint customers who want one agent and one console across endpoint, identity and cloud | ||
| 4 | Microsoft Defender for Cloud | Azure-first teams that also run AWS or Google Cloud and want to start free and model cost before buying | ||
| 5 | Palo Alto Networks Cortex Cloud (formerly Prisma Cloud) | Palo Alto Networks estates and Prisma Cloud customers moving onto Cortex Cloud | ||
| 6 | Sysdig Secure | Kubernetes-heavy teams that want Falco-based runtime detection | ||
| 7 | Upwind | Teams that want runtime context early and are ready to deploy a sensor soon after the first scan | ||
| 8 | SentinelOne Singularity Cloud | SentinelOne customers who want exploit-validated findings in the same data model as their endpoint security | ||
| 9 | Aqua Security | Teams with private or disconnected environments and container pipelines |

Switching from one platform to another?
Why these weights?
Agentless workload depth carries the most weight (25%) because it decides how much of each workload you see before anything is installed. Clouds and environments named (20%) follows because a multi-cloud team cannot use coverage of a cloud the vendor does not support. Path to first findings and risk context (15% each) decide whether the first week produces a fix list or just an inventory. Runtime (10%) matters, but it is the layer you add after coverage, so it carries less weight here than on a runtime-first ranking. Pricing visibility (8%) and integrations (7%) affect cost and follow-through more than speed of coverage. No criterion carries more than 30%.
Frequently asked questions
Why does Orca rank above Wiz here when Wiz scores higher on more criteria?
Wiz scores higher on 4 criteria and Orca on 3, but Orca's leads are on the three criteria this question weights most: clouds named, agentless depth and path to first findings. With equal weights Wiz would rank first at 8.87 against 8.67.
Which platforms name the most clouds?
Orca Security and Aqua Security name seven of our eight environments each, and Cortex Cloud names five public clouds. Every platform names at least AWS, Azure and Google Cloud on the pages we read in September 2026 and on 11 October 2026.
How often are the scores updated?
When a vendor publishes a change that affects a criterion. This edition uses vendor pages read in September 2026 and updated on 11 October 2026.
